Stanley Perry
NIACUS is saddened to learn of the death of former umpire and Honorary Life Member of the Association.
Stan had a long and active sporting career with cricket and rugby always to the fore.
Always a jovial character, he started officiating in cricket as Scorer for BRA FP, the club he acted as Honorary Secretary for some 25 years, and became a regular Senior league umpire and reached Interprovincial level. He stood with Maurice Moore in the 1984 Challenge Cup Final at Downpatrick, between the home side and NICC.
His other great love was Rugby and refereed for many years, before becoming Chair of the Ulster Branch Appointments` Committee. He was also a scrutineer of referee assessments.
His funeral will take place at Roselawn Crematorium on Monday 17th November at 11.30am.
